It is happening. Everthing about computers and computer like gadgets, accessories, the game and spirit of mini and macro computers, they are all here. Songs are now downloadable to your device from almost every nook and crany in the computer village located as Ikeja, Lagos by download vendors who are making a kill by engaging in this form of business. It's no longer for phone purchase or repairs but you could also add other utitlities to your phone, computers, ipods or psp for N100 per download. Its not just songs but also games and videos in a variety of formats such as mp4, mpg, wmv for your smart phones, laptops or ipods. These vendors hardly engage in providing downloads for Nigerian songs but they deal mainly in foreign songs partly because it's what people generally request for and also partly because of the campaign against piracy of Nigerian songs or illegal download of these songs. Although I would also consider the other downloads they offer as illegal even if they deal with foreign music and videos because they have no rights to them and are making a killing without paying any royalty whatsoever for them, but it seems the law authorities don't persecute them that much ofr foreign songs' download. You could also download and entire album by an artiste from them and the allow you to select by artist, album or track in ascending order. These vendors mostly do not care about tax or working in a bank, they are just satisfied with the easy money that they are making and there is yet no major player in this form of business that can compete reasonably with them although MTN Nigeria also offers complete music tracks for downloads, these ones allow you more access to the songs and it can be relatively cheaper and you could also negotiate on the price.

I have been there before and was able to get an mp3 album for Jay-Z downloaded to my Nokia N96. It costs N100 per track but you can negotiate if you are downloading a lot to your phone. The good thing is that you can get the latest song and practically any old or classic songs downloaded to your phone
