Do I really hate Nigerian music. Well, certainly not. But there are certain things I hate about some Nigerian songs and it's not in all of them. One of these tings is the lack of originality. Some artistes like copying other artistes without having any originality in their work. Perhaps it has to do with laziness on their part. I also do not like when local artistes copy stunts or cultures that are alien to the Nigerian society, like a musician trying to act like a black american gangster when he's not. It would have been better if he acted like a tout or agbero, at least, that is real. I also find it funny when some artiste dresses like a white man, with black suits and nice shoes but he's singing music is a local language, it just doesn't fit. If he was singing in English, it would have been real. It also bad creativity when a Nigerian musician sings Christian music but at the same time all we see in his video is him going to beer parlours or hanging out with prostitutes, it justs doesn't fit. I don't like hypocrisy in music and I like Nigerian musicians to dress, act according to the kind of music they sing. But upon all, I still like Nigerian songs because they are irrplaceable and although I still find time to listen to rappers like 50 cent and singers like Beyonce, Nigerian songs just has its own reserved spot in my heart.
